About Lori

BACKGROUND

Lori Bokenfohr is a member of the Law Society of Alberta and the New York State Bar Association, and holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) in Taxation from Osgoode Hall, York University.

Lori was previously an associate at White & Case LLP, a global law firm based in New York, and in the tax group of Ernst & Young LLP.  In her current practise, she assists entrepreneurs with business structuring, reorganization, and asset and share transactions. She also works with private enterprises and families to implement business and estate succession strategies, and long-term wealth management plans.

Lori lectures regularly on tax and business matters before various groups such as the Legal Education Society of Alberta, the Canadian Bar Association, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the University of Calgary (Faculty of Law), and accounting organizations. Outside of her practice, Lori is a member of the Government of Alberta Provincial Audit Committee and a past member of the Board of Directors of Legal Aid Alberta. She also helped develop and launch the student Tax Court Assistance Project at the Faculty of Law, University of Calgary.
